Hi, I’m Saint-Saëns.

I am a Creole linguist, researcher, and educator with a B.A. in Linguistics from The University of the West Indies, Mona. Focusing on language attitudes, syntax (including tense, mood, and aspect), and morphology, I am deeply interested in Creole language formation and sustenance through evolution.

Prioritizing advocacy and activism around Creole usage and freedom at all levels, I have participated in campaigns for Creole language rights, educated across Jamaica to highlight Creole's usage capacity, and written extensively about gender and syntax in Jamaican Creole.

I am also the Founder and Programme Director of Ash & Agatha Feminist Consulting, which prioritizes gender education in a diglossic context. Currently, I lend my skills to Afro-Creole Language Week as the project's Afro-Creole Languages Fellow for 2026.
